Transcriptions wanted
Thirty-one Jon Brion songs have been written down. He has played hundreds.
Most of what Jon Brion plays has never been written down by anyone. He improvises, he takes requests, and he has spent thirty years playing songs that survive only as somebody’s phone recording. If you can work a song out by ear, this archive would like a copy.
Any song is welcome. There is no list to pick from and nothing is too obscure. If it is a Jon Brion song, or something he plays live, it belongs here. If a transcription already exists somewhere, a better one is still worth having.
What to send
Handwritten and photographed is fine. PDF, MusicXML, MuseScore, Sibelius, a scan of a napkin. It gets cleaned up here and turned into a printable PDF plus a full resolution image.
A chord chart, the main theme, one verse you are sure about. Partial beats nothing, and several pages here started as a rough sketch.
Your name goes on the page unless you would rather it did not. You keep whatever rights you have. Say the word later and it comes down, no questions.
If something already here is wrong, that is just as useful as something new. Two credits on the 2011 archive page were fixed this way.
